Latex Emulsion : SBR-161

SBR-161 mixed slurry can also be used for corrosion protection of steel reinforcements.

Description

Zahabiya SBR-161 Latex Emulsion is a tropicalized & stabilized, well-balanced blend of styrene butadiene rubber latex/ emulsion and other essential copolymers, used satisfactorily in Civil Construction and related applications as a multipurpose cement admixture especially for repair and maintenance applications. It is added to the concrete mix in a pre-determined quantity to increase the waterproofing, chemical resistance and bond strength of cement plaster jobs in applications such as:

  • Concrete repairing/ resurfacing mortar.
  • Thin layer patching mortars.
  • Mortar for fixing bricks slips and tiles, floor screeds and toppings.
  • External rendering and corrosion protection of steel reinforcements.
  • Specially recommended to be used for old to new concrete bonding & resurfacing old/ damaged structure.

Besides its use as a reliable Bonding Agent/ Cement Admixture, it suits many uses especially in industrial and commercial applications replacing natural latex rubber for elastic non-shrink bond, water & oil proof weather resistant protective film.

Applications

  • Old to New Concrete Bonding
  • Floors, Screeds & Plasters
  • Thin Layer Repair Mortars
  • Flexible Cementitious Waterproof Coatings
  • Tiling & Grouts

Advantages

  • Provides resistance from abrasion, deterioration, and moisture/ chlorine/ oxygen penetration and carbonation effect.
  • Controls internal micro-stresses within the concrete structure.
  • Reduces shrinkage & concrete bleed.
  • Improves waterproofing, bond strength and inter-molecular adhesion resulting increased physical properties of the concrete.
  • Protects steel from corrosion in concrete structure and seals/retards formation of voids/cracks.
